Katherine is a modern and thriving town approximately 312 kilometers from Darwin and is the jewel of the Top End.
Located on the beautiful Katherine River, the township offers a diverse range
of swimming, fishing and recreational facilities including a cinema and
local pubs and clubs, often with live entertainment offered during the
busiest times.
There's ample to see
and do when visiting Katherine including a visit to the world renowned
Katherine Gorge in Nitmiluk National Park. Here you will witness the
spectacular icon of the Territory which began 23 million years ago as
torrents of water and now boasts the 13 wonderful gorges of Nitmuluk.
The National park is rich in Aboriginal art and has over 100 kilometers of
walking tracks which meander through the area including a five day trek
to the popular spot of Edith Falls.
